Error al instalar el driver de nvidia en Ubuntu 14.04

Estoy teniendo problemas para instalar el controlador para la GTX980 en Ubuntu 14.04. Necesito actualizar a CUDA7.El 5 y el controlador más reciente. He utilizado tanto el .ejecutar el instalador y deb. instalador y hacer la purga antes de la instalación.

    Hola tengo GTX 980 Ti usando Ubuntu 14.04 (he probado con la GTX 970 también). No estoy seguro por qué, pero la instalación del controlador de dos veces a partir de diferentes fuentes trabajadas.

    1. Descarga del archivo de controlador de El sitio web de NVidia, por ejemplo, «NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-352.55.ejecutar».

    2. En primer lugar instalar desde el repositorio de

    ejecutar en la terminal:

    $ sudo apt-get remove nvidia*
    $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
    $ sudo apt-get update
    $ sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

    1. Reiniciar. Usted encontrará que usted no puede iniciar sesión de nuevo. Antes de iniciar sesión, pulse Ctrl+Alt+F1. Introduzca su nombre de usuario y contraseña en el comando.

    2. Detener el lightdm y ejecutar NVidia, archivo de instalación:

    ejecutar en la terminal:

    $ sudo stop lightdm
    $ sudo cd ~/Downloads
    $ sudo chmod +x NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-352.55.run
    $ sudo ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-352.55.run

    Aquí algunos de los archivos se instalarán y al final dice el programa kernel error, pero está bien. Reinicie de nuevo, la tarjeta gráfica va a trabajar.

    • para aquellos de ustedes usando Ubuntu 17.04: si sudo dejar de lightdm no funciona. Intente sudo service lightdm parada
    • Este askubuntu.com/questions/841876/…, descargar drivers y ejecutar trabajó para mí. Gracias
